Features: It is evident that, historically, the Prussian question was a German issue, a European issue, and even a world issue. Strangely enough, in reality, the Prussian question still frequently manifests as a German, European, or even a world issue. This is the deeper question we explore in "What is Prussia": What kind of country was Prussia, what kind of spirit, culture, and traditions did it have? As a political-geographical concept, Prussia has three meanings: , the Prussian territory on the Baltic coast that was once ruled by the Teutonic Knights in the Middle Ages; second, the Prussian Kingdom under the rule of the House of Hohenzollern from 1701 to 1918, which was a state within the German Empire and the German Confederation; third, the German state established after the fall of the Hohenzollern dynasty in 1918. From this perspective, we understand that Prussia was a German state, a German state.
