Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolsheviks), Comintern, and the Chinese National Revolution Movement (1926-1927, Complete Two Volumes)

Author: Compiled by the First Research Department of the Research Institute of the History of the Communist Party of China
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1998-11-01
Features: This volume of the document collection includes a total of 268 documents, most of which are published for the first time. The main contents include meeting records of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolshevik) and the Presidium of the Executive Committee of the Comintern discussing China-related issues; telegrams and letters exchanged by Stalin, Trotsky, Bukharin, Zinoviev, and others regarding the Chinese revolution; meeting records of the Far East Bureau of the Executive Committee of the Comintern (based in Shanghai); reports by the Bobnov Mission on the situation in South China and the "320 Incident"; Soviet and Republican telegrams and letters, as well as records of conversations and correspondence between Soviet and Comintern leaders and Nationalist Party figures such as Hu Min and Shao Lizi. These documents record a series of major events in China during this period from the perspective of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolshevik) and the Comintern, reflecting the focus, objectives, and evolution of their policies toward China. They also expose the contradictions and impracticality of their policies aimed at transforming the Nationalist Revolution into a workers' and peasants' revolution, turning the Kuomintang into a workers' and peasants' party, and carrying out land revolution while maintaining alliances among different factions of the Kuomintang. These documents hold significant academic value. To introduce them to the Chinese historical academia in a timely manner, we purchased the Chinese translation rights from the original compilers of the book in the first half of 1996 and began organizing the translation effort in early 1997. This book (two volumes) is listed as the third and fourth volumes of our compiled large-scale documentary archive series, "Comintern, Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolshevik), and the Chinese Revolution: Archival Materials."
