[Abstract]
Objective To study the effects of chronic chlamydia and mycoplasma prostatitis on sperm and semen.
Methods Sperm motility, density, serum anti-sperm antibodies (AsAb), and semen liquefaction were examined in 186 patients with confirmed diagnoses.
Results The study found significantly increased sperm density, motility, poor semen liquefaction, and positive rates of AsAb in this group, with mycoplasma infection being particularly severe.
Conclusion Chronic chlamydia and mycoplasma prostatitis are one of the important factors causing male infertility. Emphasizing the diagnosis and treatment of chronic chlamydia and mycoplasma prostatitis can help improve male reproductive health and reduce the incidence of infertility.
