Can 3-month-old babies drink cold juice?

Patient's question:

My baby is 3 months old and breastfeeding. In the hot summer, should I hydrate the baby with watermelon juice, vegetable juice, etc.? First follow-up question: Will drinking cold juice hurt the stomach?

Doctor's answer:

After 6 months, you are not necessarily required to give your baby juice or vegetable juice, but if you prefer to, that's perfectly fine. If you do decide to give your baby juice and vegetable juice, use a large cup or a small cup for feeding during meals, rather than a bottle or before bedtime. When giving your baby juice and vegetable juice, remember to dilute it with at least 10 times the amount of cool boiled water. The maximum amount to consume per day is 120 milliliters.
Sweetened mud and drinks are not suitable for infants and very young toddlers because they contain a lot of sugar or sweeteners, which can cause tooth decay and offer no nutritional value. If possible, milk (including breast milk or formula) or water should be the primary beverages for your baby until they are one year old.
