Can coldness be cured?

Patient's question:

Spent several years with my wife, she never used to be sexually unresponsive before. Recently, I've noticed my wife is indifferent. Why would my wife be like this? What could be the reasons that lead to a lack of libido? But I've always wanted a child.

Doctor's answer:

Sexual activity is an activity that heightens passion and mutual satisfaction between spouses. If one loses interest in sex, or even develops indifference or aversion towards it, it may indicate a case of sexual apathy. Both men and women can experience sexual apathy, but statistics show that women are more affected and to a greater degree. The reasons for this condition generally stem from two aspects: first, the presence of certain medical conditions, such as insufficient ovarian function or dysfunction of endocrine glands like the adrenal cortex. Second, psychological factors such as inhibition, fear, or sexual incompatibility can also contribute to this issue.
Sexual apathy is rarely permanent or persistent. If a husband consistently shows physical and emotional care, attention, and tenderness towards his wife, it is possible for sexual apathy to transform into sexual arousal. First, upon discovering that his wife has sexual apathy, the husband should avoid suspicion or cursing, as this would only worsen the situation. Instead, he should be patient and attentive, making her feel deeply loved. At the same time, he should engage in more affectionate touch and avoid sexual positions or behaviors that she dislikes. If, after these efforts, her condition does not improve, the husband should accompany her to a hospital for a checkup to rule out any underlying physical conditions.
