The China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) has gone through 50 years of from its establishment in December 1945 to 1995. During these 50 years, due to its specific historical environment and social status, it chose a historical path that fully demonstrated the characteristics and role of a revolutionary party in the context of Chinese social history. The historical process of the CAPD has been tortuous, constantly overcoming its own errors and shortcomings, growing and thriving, while also continuously accepting the influence of the Communist Party of China. The historical development of the CAPD can be divided into three stages: the test of the severe expansion of the Anti-Rightist Campaign, the test of economic difficulties, and the Cultural Revolution. This book comprehensively presents these three stages.
