China and Asia-Pacific Security

Features: Since the end of the Cold War, international relations scholars in the Asia-Pacific region have focused more on economic issues than on security concerns. As a scholar specializing in international security issues, I do not regret this. This is because economic issues have attracted more attention from scholars than security issues, stemming from the relatively stable security situation in the Asia-Pacific region. The fundamental purpose of studying international security issues is to maintain international peace and stability. However, I would like to remind readers that the relatively stable security environment in the Asia-Pacific region did not come out of thin air. If we do not cherish this relatively peaceful peace in the Asia-Pacific region, we may easily lose it; if we do not understand the conditions under which this relatively peaceful international environment has formed, we will not know how to maintain it in the long run; if we do not conduct in-depth research on the security policies of countries in the Asia-Pacific region, we will not be able to further develop security cooperation in this region.
