Patient's question:
Medical Description: I am 17 years old, and I have varicocele on the left side. After an erection, my penis is only more than 9 centimeters long, and I ejaculate quickly during masturbation. For this, I am always worried and afraid that the short penis will affect my future life.History of Treatment and Effects: Sometimes, my left testicle hurts, and after examination, it was found to be varicocele. No treatment has been administered yet.
Desired Help: Can the penis still develop? How can development be promoted (what needs to be done in daily life)? Does varicocele affect size? Does mentality affect penis development and size?
Doctor's answer:
A normal adult penis measures 7-9 centimeters in a flaccid state and about 11-16 centimeters when erect. If the penis is less than 5 centimeters in a flaccid state and less than 10 centimeters when erect, it is called micropenis. Currently, the only safe and effective method for treating micropenis is surgical intervention. Penile elongation surgery is performed based on the physiological characteristics and/or extension needs of different men. The superficial and deep suspensory ligaments of the penis are cut at appropriate positions, allowing the buried corpus cavernosum to be separated. The internal filling and external pulling suture technique is then used to extend the external part of the penis by 3-5 centimeters. This surgery not only extends the penis to near-normal length but also preserves normal erectile and sensory functions.
