Features: In the late 1980s of the 20th century, the Communist parties in eight Eastern European countries successively lost their ruling positions. This domino-style political earthquake evolved into a tragedy of Eastern European socialism. Guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory, this book provides a panoramic review and reflection on the history of democratic revolutions and construction, as well as socialist revolutions and construction in Eastern European countries. From the perspective of origins, it thoroughly analyzes the successes and failures of post-war Eastern European socialism, explores the historical roots and internal and external factors of the Eastern European upheaval, and showcases the unique characteristics of each Eastern European country in their journey toward socialism and subsequent loss of power, shifting toward capitalism. The book outlines the entire process of the Eastern European upheaval with abundant facts and detailed materials, offering insightful personal opinions and convincing conclusions. It holds significant reference value for in-depth research and discussion on the causes and lessons of the Eastern European upheaval, the collapse of ruling parties, and the patterns of socialist development. It also provides strong practical significance for understanding the rich connotations of the "Three Represents" thought and addressing the questions of why Eastern European Communist parties lost power and why the Communist Party of China thrived. Those who are concerned about the future development of world socialism and the prospects of China's socialist revolution and construction may find this book worthwhile to read.
