Patient's question:
My child is 5 years old. Every time she cries, there are a few small bleeding spots under her eyelids. The platelet count test at the hospital was normal. I don't know if this is normal capillary bleeding. Could the experts please provide a diagnosis?Doctor's answer:
It could be stress purpura, which is nothing serious. Stress purpura occurs when blood pressure inside blood vessels increases after exertion, such as coughing or vomiting, leading to the rupture and bleeding of capillaries in loose tissues like the face and neck. Generally, we recommend trying to use some simple, astringent and hemostatic treatments, or simply using some medications to increase platelet counts for treatment.
