Features: The fourteen-volume Jixiao Xinshu currently existing versions include the Wanli 16th year (1588) edition published by General Li Chengxun, the Chengli 20th year re-engraving by the Zhuang family, the Wanli 21st year Fujian Provincial Administration Commission edition, the Wanli 32nd year edition, the Chongzhen 17th year (1664) edition, and manuscripts. It was never reprinted domestically during the Qing and Republican periods, making it a rare military treatise in the world. In the 1990s, some volumes of this book began to be made known to the public. It was not until 1998 that this book was first completely published by Shiji Press, titled Qi Jiguang’s Military Methods—Annotated Fourteen-Volume Jixiao Xinshu. Additionally, there are Japanese re-engraved editions from the Honghua 2nd year (1845) and a supplementary engraving based on the Honghua 2nd year edition from the Bunroku 3rd year (1863). This book is one volume in the Qi Jiguang Studies series. It includes the fourteen-volume Jixiao Xinshu, a military theory work by Qi Jiguang, the Ming Dynasty’s famous anti-Japanese general and national hero. The book is rich in content, illustrated with images, and features detailed and easy-to-understand annotations. It holds extremely important academic reference value for a comprehensive understanding and study of Qi Jiguang.
