How to prevent premature ejaculation

Patient's question:

I used to masturbate quite frequently. The first time I had contact with a woman, I came within two minutes. Later, after doing it more often, it took about four minutes, and sometimes seven or eight minutes? Am I a bit premature ejaculator? Also, how can I prevent coming too early?

Doctor's answer:

Currently, there are many factors that can lead to premature ejaculation, with psychological factors playing a dominant role. Many people, due to various reasons, fear sexual failure, experience emotional anxiety, and thus fall into premature ejaculation. Young individuals who are accustomed to masturbation often aim to reach climax quickly. Those lacking sexual knowledge and seeking only sexual satisfaction; couples who are not good at; emotional disconnection, aversion to their partner, and intentional or unintentional sadistic behavior; concerns about sexual activity harming health and exacerbating certain pre-existing conditions; individuals with infrequent sexual activity or prolonged sexual repression; and women who dislike sexual intercourse and are anxious, pressuring for a quick end to sexual activity. Additionally, excessive frequency of sexual activity, high work pressure, psychological burdens, and fatigue can all lead to premature ejaculation.
The treatment of premature ejaculation involves both etiological treatment and medication. If the foreskin is long, circumcision may be considered. If sensitivity is high, penile dorsal nerve blockage can be performed. Alternatively, applying lidocaine gel to the glans before sexual activity can be tried. Finally, medication is also a treatment option. Common medications for premature ejaculation, such as Priligy and Sertraline, have a certain therapeutic effect.
