Features: From the main components of traditional Chinese ethical and moral culture—Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism—we have selected some ethical propositions and moral thoughts that played a significant role in shaping and developing our national spirit in history, and still contain certain active factors in modern life. We have conducted historical excavation and modern interpretation of these selections to critically continue the essence of traditional ethical and moral culture, achieving a unity of critical inheritance and innovative advancement. This provides some reference materials for thought. In compiling this series, we have made efforts to select these ethical propositions and moral thoughts based on the internal logic of the ethical and moral thought systems of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, striving to avoid subjectivity and arbitrariness. For the interpretation of these ethical propositions and moral thoughts, we have focused on perspectives that have gained broader recognition in the development of our national history, and made necessary elaborations based on the realities of the present.
