Features: It's not about looks; competence is what matters. It's not about wealth; circulation is key. It's not about skill; being thick-skinned is enough. This is the lesson we learn from Song Jiang, a seemingly unremarkable figure who rose to become the leader of Liangshan Marsh. Wang Xifeng is clever and formidable, but her cleverness and ruthlessness endangered others' rights and survival, making her a tyrant. She held herself above all, fearless and with no regard for consequences, driving everyone to the brink. The result was "One order, two subordinates, three trees; crying toward Jinling, even sadder," as she slid step by step into the grave she dug herself. The lesson Wang Xifeng leaves us with is: Don't let cleverness blind you, and never overdo things. Paying attention to details, being quick-witted and eloquent are key traits of a shrewd person. By this standard, Lu Zhishen is also a shrewd individual. Zhou Yu is shrewd, and Wang Lun is too, yet both met a downfall. Zhou Yu died of a fit of rage at Zhuge Liang, and Wang Lun was stabbed to death by Lin Chong. Lu Zhishen, however, was different—not only did he befriend a band of heroes, but he also achieved a positive outcome in the end, passing away in peace. This is something Zhou Yu and Wang Lun could never attain.
