Features: Events in the surrounding areas of Xinjiang will inevitably affect the stability and development of Xinjiang, as well as the national security of China's western region and even China as a whole. Since 2000, we have begun to publish the annual report "Events in the Surrounding Areas of Xinjiang," analyzing and forecasting relevant issues, and internally publishing it to provide references for relevant comrades. Building on previous work, we have made the 2003 annual report publicly available for readers. The 2003 annual report consists of a main report and several thematic reports. The main report provides a macro analysis and discussion of the overall situation based on the thematic reports, while the thematic reports delve into specific key issues. The entire book is edited by the chief editor but retains the academic viewpoints of the authors of each thematic report. At the end of the book, there is an "Annals of Major Events in Xinjiang's Surrounding Areas in 2003" for reference.
