Features: In recent years, Japanese language education overseas has developed rapidly. According to a survey conducted by the Japan Foundation Japanese Language Center for International Education in 1998 on Japanese language education institutions overseas, the number of Japanese learners has exceeded 2.1 million, and their levels and learning purposes have become diversified. Additionally, the survey found that one of the issues frequently cited by many Japanese language education institutions is "lack of suitable teaching materials." Therefore, it can be said that we have not yet done enough in developing teaching materials to meet the widespread demand overseas.
