Publish Date: 2006-05-01
Features: Franz von Liszt (1851–1919) was an academic master who combined the study of criminal law and criminal law and achieved remarkable results. He was both an outstanding representative of the criminal social non-partisan school and the founder of the modern school (new school) of criminal law. His basic academic thoughts and theoretical viewpoints still have an important impact on contemporary criminal law and criminal law theory. "Criminal Law Textbook" is one of Liszt's most important representative works. The book was first published in 1881 and has been translated into French, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Finnish, Greek, Serbian, and other languages. It has been widely circulated internationally and has had a great influence. China has never translated or published Liszt's works, so many scholars who do not understand German find it difficult to directly understand the thoughts and viewpoints of this criminal law giant, which is a great regret for China's criminal law community. It is hoped that the publication of this translation can partially make up for this deficiency. In view of the progress in criminal legislation and the scientific field after Liszt's death, in order to keep the textbook in line with the development of criminal law and criminal law science, Dr. Schmidt revised and published the 25th edition of the Criminal Law Textbook in 1927, making comprehensive and serious revisions to each chapter of the textbook, as well as major revisions to some chapters. The 26th edition was revised again. However, the basic system was not modified, and Liszt's basic ideas on crime and criminal law, as well as his unique criminal policy tendencies, were retained intact. For readers who wish to understand Liszt's own thoughts and viewpoints, this is enough if it is not too demanding.
