Will a child's burn leave scars?

Patient's question:

Today, a two-year-old child accidentally got scalded on the face with boiling water. How can we reduce the possibility of scarring? They are currently being treated in the hospital. There are no broken skin, just small blisters. I am overly worried. Will the child's scalding leave scars?

Doctor's answer:

There may be some residual pigmentation, which can gradually fade over time. If the treatment is normal, it will not cause infection, and it should not form scars. It is recommended to go to a public hospital for examination and treatment of the wound. Apply moist burn cream for treatment, and avoid spicy foods to prevent irritation. Cooperate actively with the doctor's treatment to prevent infection, promote early recovery, and reduce scar formation.
