Features: This book conducts a comprehensive and systematic comparative study on the growth and development strategies of subsidiaries of multinational corporations in China. First, it presents a theoretical model for comparing the growth and development strategies of domestic multinational corporations. Next, it conducts systematic empirical research on the strategic choices, strategic systems, and strategic postures of subsidiaries of multinational corporations in China from two dimensions: horizontally (country) and vertically (time). Among these, the empirical research proposes 15 groups of hypotheses, including assumptions about the investment entry modes of subsidiaries of multinational corporations in China, the motivations for additional investment, the assumptions regarding equity ratios and their changes, the factors influencing growth and development strategies, the assumptions about strategic postures and competitive positions, the assumptions about competitive advantages, the assumptions about knowledge flow, the assumptions about strategic tendencies, the hypotheses about the relationships between parent and subsidiary companies and between subsidiaries, the assumptions about integration and localization strategies, and the hypotheses about human resource strategies and the assumptions about failures in research and development strategies. Based on the verification of these hypotheses, this report also compares the conclusions of the current empirical research with those of previous empirical studies. Subsequently, it conducts specialized studies on the marketing strategies, human resource strategies, and research and development strategies of subsidiaries of multinational corporations in China. Finally, it analyzes the six major models of strategic evolution of subsidiaries of multinational corporations in China and summarizes the trends in the strategic evolution of multinational corporations in China.
