Features: Lüshi Chunqiu, also known as Lülan, is an important cultural classic from the pre-Qin period. This book contains a wealth of content, preserving historical and cultural materials from before the pre-Qin era. It serves as a crucial reference for studying pre-Qin philosophy, the schools of thought, literature, and the historical conditions of the Warring States period. Due to its rigorous compilation approach, the book has long been regarded as invaluable, holding a high position in the history of Chinese culture. As a result, later scholars referred to Lüshi Chunqiu as the concluding work of pre-Qin classics. The entire book is divided into twelve Ji (Records), eight Lan (Views), and six Lun (Discourses), totaling one hundred and sixty chapters. The content primarily revolves around Confucian and Daoist thought, while also including the words and deeds of the schools of the Logicians, Legalists, Mohists, Farmers, and Yin-Yangists. It synthesizes the doctrines of various pre-Qin schools of thought, making it a precious resource for studying the ideas of the pre-Qin schools of thought today. Therefore, later scholars have highly praised it. This edition of Lüshi Chunqiu is based on the Twenty-Two Masters compilation published by Zhejiang Book Bureau in the early years of the Guangxu era. It references works such as Lüshi Chunqiu annotated by Chen Qiyou, Lüshi Chunqiu annotated by Gao You, and Lüshi Chunqiu translated and annotated by Zhang Shuangdi et al.
