What causes male semen to not liquefy

Patient's question:

I feel like I've been abnormal lately. When I ejaculate, I feel that my semen doesn't vaporize much. I looked up some information and found that normal semen vaporizes shortly after ejaculation. I don't know what caused this condition.

Doctor's answer:

Ejaculate does not liquefy commonly due to seminal vesiculitis and prostatitis, which result in insufficient secretion of fibrinolytic enzymes from the prostate; deficiency of trace elements (such as magnesium, zinc, etc.); congenital absence of the prostate, and other factors. It is generally believed that the secretions of the prostate and seminal vesicles contribute to the coagulation and liquefaction processes of semen. The coagulation factor produced by the seminal vesicles causes semen coagulation, while the liquefaction factors produced by the prostate, such as protein compression enzymes and fibrinolytic enzymes, cause semen liquefaction. Once inflammation occurs in the seminal vesicles or prostate again, it can disrupt the secretion of these factors, leading to an increase in coagulation factors or liquefaction factors, resulting in the condition of non-liquefying semen.
