"The Great Way is what changes and solidifies all things." The Great Way is the metaphysical way, the existential essence of the universe and all things, the observation of the changes of heaven and earth, the insight into the origins of all transformations, the cosmic principles derived from the laws of yin and yang's nurturing of all things, as well as the pure laws, pure concepts, pure ideas, and absolute truth obtained from this. This Way is boundless in its vastness and infinitely small in its intricacy; in terms of size, nothing in heaven can contain it; in terms of minuteness, nothing in the world can break it. Although this Way is metaphysical, it is not suspended in the void; rather, it flows through the universe and permeates all things. It is inseparable from affairs, and affairs are inseparable from the Way. The manifestation of the Way's circulation and application is everywhere, making it a truthful and unchanging principle, an actual existence of rationality.
What I call the philosophy of the Great Way is this metaphysical ontology of the Great Way. The spirit of the Way, the philosophy of the Great Way, or the spirit of metaphysical ontology of the Great Way, is the fundamental spirit of Chinese culture philosophy, and it is the fundamental spirit of the Chinese nation. Rebuilding the philosophy of the Great Way, rebuilding the metaphysics of the Way's body, is to rebuild this spirit, to rebuild the spiritual homeland of the Chinese nation, and to return the soul of the Chinese nation.
