Pleural effusion can be surgically treated

Patient's question:

Right lower abdominal encapsulated effusion

Doctor's answer:

Encapsulated effusion (Encapsulated effusion) occurs when pleurisy causes adhesion between the visceral and parietal pleura, limiting the effusion to a specific area of the chest cavity, forming an encapsulated effusion (Figure 3-40). The effusion is often located along the axillary margin or on the posterior chest wall. When the patient is positioned tangentially, a semi-circular or spindle-shaped, uniform, dense shadow convexed from the chest wall towards the chest cavity can be observed, with sharp edges.
