Features: This compilation covers a wide range of content, including general reviews, studies on works (which further include critiques, interpretations, and discussions of authenticity), biographical accounts and evaluations, as well as poems inspired by admiration. For materials with similar viewpoints or those that follow one another, we generally adopt a policy of inclusion with appropriate in the text. For example, regarding Li Bai's place of origin, the circumstances behind "The Hard Road to Shu," and the issue of Li Congling, the varied interpretations throughout history do not necessarily require new insights but help us understand which generations and individuals held which views. Similarly, for the question of whether Li Bai was exiled to Yelang, since few have discussed it, such materials hold greater reference value. Credibility is not the standard for including materials. For instance, regarding the mutual rescue and drowning of Li Bai and Guo Xi, while modern scholars dismiss it as baseless, it was widely believed by predecessors, and understanding this is essential. Another point to note is that there are particularly numerous poems composed throughout history in praise of Li Bai. These works extensively explore perceptions of Li Bai's thoughts, personality, experiences, and wounds, even if they are merely expressions of admiration, they reveal Li Bai's historical influence. Therefore, we have included a substantial number of them. In summary, we believe that for a great poet as extraordinary as Li Bai, who lived a life full of legends and whose works often sparked controversy, a broader scope of material inclusion is necessary to fully reflect how predecessors perceived and evaluated him.
