Features: As a master once said: If Kant is an insurmountable bridge to classical philosophy, then Nietzsche is an insurmountable bridge to modernism and postmodernism. This great Western philosopher of the late 19th century coined revolutionary statements such as "God is dead" and "Re-evaluating All Values." To study Nietzsche's philosophy, one must first study this book, known as the "Essence of Nietzsche's Philosophy," The Description of Ancient Rhetoric! People's understanding of rhetoric involves concepts such as goodness, justice, and beauty, making speech more pure and lucid. In light of this, the translator, after rendering Nietzsche's original work, further explored the ideological connections between rhetoric and proposed combining them into one volume. Nietzsche said that great men become great only through being misunderstood. The distortions and misinterpretations of Nietzsche's life and teachings have exceeded his own imagination: during the two World Wars, German soldiers often read Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra in the trenches as their "bible." The fascist leader Hitler openly declared himself a follower of Nietzsche, paid homage to Nietzsche's sister—Elizabeth Nietzsche, visited the Nietzsche Archive twice, and personally donated money from his own pocket to the archive. Mussolini wrote a letter to Nietzsche's sister, calling Nietzsche his "favorite and revered philosopher," and also donated to the Nietzsche Archive. In 1945, the Soviet Red Army occupied Weimar, sealed the Nietzsche Archive, and declared Nietzsche's ideas as "fascist doctrine." After its publication in the United States, this book had a significant impact and was reprinted multiple times. The Germans highly valued this book, specifically purchased the German translation rights, and invited the author Peters to personally translate it into German. The Chinese edition was translated from the German version and accompanied by over 60 precious photographs of Nietzsche and his sister, many of which were published in China for the first time. This book, with its rich illustrations and narratives, showcases and tells the little-known, joyous and sorrowful legendary stories that unfolded in the 40 years after Nietzsche's passing.
