On the Folk Literature of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan

Publish Date: 2003-10-01
Features: This book is a collection of the author's recent research on folk literature in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The content is divided into four parts:
1. Hong Kong Section: Before Hong Kong's return to China in 1997, a rich variety of folk literary works had long been circulated in both urban and suburban areas.
2. Macau Section: After 1995, I often visited China from Australia each year, passing through Macau, where I would stay for periods ranging from a few days to over three months.
3. Taiwan Section: In February 1980, after arriving in Hong Kong, I noticed that some bookstores sometimes sold collections of Taiwan's folk literature and theoretical works, some even on folklore, which I often purchased at high prices.
4. Other Sections: This part of the book is more diverse and not all focused on a single aspect. Mostly, it introduces the spread of Chinese and Chinese art in Australia. Some excerpts also cover folk literature or folklore, and one article reviews an Australian folk literature monograph for reference purposes.
