Does the prostate cause premature ejaculation?

Patient's question:

I have had prostatitis for a while. When it first started, the main symptoms were frequent urination and urgency, and sometimes there was a slight stinging sensation at the urethral opening after urination. Occasionally, there was a discharge of white fluid. However, recently I noticed that the duration of intercourse with my partner has become shorter, and sometimes I ejaculate right after starting.

Doctor's answer:

Prostatitis may lead to premature ejaculation. You can undergo a routine examination of prostatic fluid to confirm the diagnosis. For prostatitis, antibiotic anti-inflammatory treatment is recommended, and short-term use of α-blockers (such as Durect) can be considered. Quit smoking and drinking, avoid spicy foods, refrain from sexual intercourse, and avoid excessive sexual frequency. Prevent local cold stimulation, and simultaneously adopt physical therapy to enhance treatment effects. Methods include sitting in a basin (soak in warm water for about 10 minutes).
The daily treatment for prostatitis patients primarily involves medication. Patients can take oral medications and supplement with some vitamins. Additionally, maintain a regular schedule and avoid alcohol.
