Philosophical Exploration Records

Author: Miao Qiming
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2000-12-01
Features: The thirty-plus articles selected here are chosen from the author's over 130 papers, each representing new insights. They reflect the author's explorations in philosophy, logic, thought, and aesthetics. Although the author has published monographs in these fields, the papers are more focused and concise, with many containing content not found in the monographs. Within these four categories of articles, each has one or two main themes, and the papers are largely interconnected, thus providing a more systematic elaboration on related topics. Their common characteristic lies in examining issues from a philosophical perspective, hence the name "Philosophical Quests." The author originally intended to include some papers on real-world issues and reforms, but due to space constraints, they had to be omitted. This also helps maintain the book's academic and theoretical nature. As for the new concepts, theories, and issues first proposed in these articles, I briefly introduce them in the introductions to each category, highlighting them in bold for readers to understand. This approach is also empathetic: when I read others' articles, I always hope to know what new concepts or theories the author has proposed. Highlighting them here is expected to make it easier for readers to critique.
