Features: I am too proud to borrow ideas from others to create my works. I don’t like "testing my views on others," nor do I want to "see how others react to this idea." I’d rather sink or swim by myself. — Charles M. Schulz "The country singer and sausage merchant Jimmy Dean once told Schulz, 'You don’t look like a cartoonist, more like a pharmacist.' He was absolutely right. Schulz was graceful in his demeanor and strict in his style." — Rita Johnson (author of "The Story of Charles M. Schulz") "He used simple lines and subtle humor to touch on taboos of the time, such as faith, prejudice, despair, loneliness, cruelty, and hopelessness. The characters he drew were all thinkers, speaking bluntly and hitting the mark." — David Michaelis (biographer of Schulz) To know, happiness doesn’t mean everything! — Lucy
Little Lucy made a mistake. In kindergarten, he convinced a girl to go to Paris with him—even though he didn’t even know where Paris was—and as a result, he was punished with detention. No one hated kindergarten life more than Lucy, and he deliberately made trouble for everything there: when doing watercolor assignments, he drank all the water used for mixing colors; when learning to tie his shoes, he put on someone else’s shoes; during nap time, he sat up and read the newspaper, even trying to get the teacher to look at the car advertisements. According to him, his kindergarten life was "just a messy coloring book."
A new semester began, and Lucy would rather live under his bed than return to kindergarten. Snoopy’s brothers—thin Andy and fat Olaf—suddenly appeared in front of his doghouse. The enthusiastic Charlie Brown knocked on every door, trying to convince the neighbors to adopt them. After failing to find a home, they followed Snoopy’s advice and decided to go to another brother, Spike, to continue their search for happiness. It was said that Spike knew Mickey Mouse, who might help them find a job in Hollywood. The little dogs set off again on their fable-like journey to a new future, but unfortunately, their sense of direction wasn’t very good. They quickly strayed off course, intending to go to the desert but ended up wandering into the snow-covered Alaskan wilderness. They had to find some dog-sledding work there. Fortunately, the Earth is round, and after a few months, they returned to Snoopy’s doghouse again.
