Features: In December 1937, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish the Central Committee of the Southeast Bureau to lead the Party work in the guerrilla areas of Southeast provinces. In January 1938, the Southeast Bureau was officially established in Nanchang, Jiangxi. The initial jurisdiction of the Southeast Bureau included the Party work in Jiangxi, Zhejiang provinces, as well as parts of Fujian, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, and Guangdong provinces. In November 1938, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to transform the original Central Committee of the Southeast Bureau into the Central Committee of the Southeast Bureau in the southeastern region south of the Yangtze River, with the same composition of personnel and affiliated organizations (formally implemented between March and April 1939). In December 1940, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to merge the Southeast Bureau into the Central Committee of Central China. After the Anhui Incident in January 1941, the work of the Southeast Bureau was forced to stop. In April, the Southeast Bureau and the Central Committee of Central China were merged to form the Central Committee of Central China, marking the official conclusion of the work of the Southeast Bureau.
The book Central Committee of the Southeast Bureau is divided into photographs, general overview, memoirs, special topics, biographies of figures, chronicles of major events, and documentary materials, totaling nearly 800,000 words, published in two volumes. The first volume includes photographs, general overview, memoirs, special topics, biographies of figures, and chronicles of major events, while the second volume contains documentary materials. During the compilation process, the research achievements of the Party history and military history circles on the Southeast Bureau and the New Fourth Army were incorporated, and opinions and suggestions from relevant experts and scholars were sought to improve the content of certain sections of the manuscript.
