Features: Sholem Aleichem was an outstanding Russian Jewish humorist and one of the world cultural figures called for remembrance by the World Peace Council. His works have been widely translated and are known as "the Jewish Mark Twain" in the United States. This book includes 13 of his excellent short stories. In these stories, the author uses a humorous style to portray the character of a quirky, imaginative, honest, and hardworking Jewish "little man," reflecting the tragic fate of Jews under the autocratic rule of the Tsarist Russia in a realistic and profound way. Reading these humorous stories will make you laugh uncontrollably, but after the laughter, you will inevitably shed tears.
