Author: Rao Pengzi et al. (Editor-in-Chief)
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-06-01
Features: The book includes a total of 49 papers, most of which were originally published in authoritative journals such as Social Sciences in China, Literary Review, Literary Heritage, Arts Research, and Theoretical Research on Literature. These papers generally reflect the academic interests, research fields, theoretical perspectives, research methods, and disciplinary characteristics of the literature faculty at our university over the past few years. The value of academic research and disciplinary development lies in the word "distinctiveness." Having distinctiveness means having significance and value for existence and development. The papers included in this book cover various disciplines of literary research, such as literary theory, ancient Chinese literature, classical Chinese documentology, modern and contemporary Chinese literature, comparative literature and world literature, with a broad scope and significant differences in topic direction and research style. However, by reading these 49 papers, I am delighted to see three prominent characteristics of our university's literature discipline: First, a broad perspective, keen insight, and strong problem awareness, reflecting the teachers' high ability to identify, analyze, and solve academic issues. Second, flexible methodology, emphasis on comparison, and a focus on interdisciplinary integrated research, which aligns well with the trend of disciplinary crossover and integration in contemporary academia. Third, a strong emphasis on creativity, avoiding conventional views, presenting original insights, and establishing one's own unique voice. This is evident not only among the older generation of scholars but also among the middle-aged and young scholars.
