Features: The book points out that at the turn of the century, the economic and social development of Jiangsu Province has stepped onto a new structural platform. However, the restructuring of Jiangsu's economy still faces numerous difficulties and challenges, such as low industrial development efficiency and a low level of industrial structure. Especially in the new century, facing economic globalization, entry into the WTO, and the deepening marketization, industrialization, informatization, and urbanization of domestic economic and social development, Jiangsu's economic structure has shown significant adaptability issues. It is necessary to advance the strategic restructuring of the economic structure. It is essential to fully recognize and grasp the basic characteristics of the strategic restructuring of the economic structure. Currently and in the future, the role of market mechanisms in restructuring will be stronger, and it must be advanced in an open environment that combines internal and external factors. The structural production surplus should be considered as a normal condition. The book also argues that to thoroughly and solidly advance the strategic restructuring of Jiangsu's economy in the new century and new stage, it must be closely linked with the goals of enriching the people and strengthening the province and achieving "two firsts." It must further take the path of marketization and socialization in restructuring. It must adopt a comprehensive approach, systematically plan, integrate resources and efforts, and promote coordinated progress. At the same time, it is necessary to identify key and difficult areas, concentrate on breakthroughs, and achieve progress.
