Features: This study aims to explore the transformation of curriculum research from modern to postmodern, its background, theoretical foundation, basic concepts, and developmental orientation. It compares the different characteristics of modern and postmodern curriculum research and constructs curriculum research for the 21st century. The book is divided into 7 chapters, with the following basic framework:
Chapter 1, Definitions of Modern and Postmodern. This chapter analyzes the concepts of modern and postmodern and their relationship.
Chapter 2, Review and Analysis of Modern Curriculum Research. This chapter discusses the rise of modern curriculum research and its background, as well as its basic models, theoretical foundations, and methodologies.
Chapter 3, The Rise of Postmodern Curriculum Research: Conceptual Reconstruction. This chapter introduces the origins of the conceptual reconstruction movement, its theoretical foundations, and the basic views of the conceptual reconstruction school.
Chapter 4 and 5, Development of Postmodern Curriculum Research (Part 1 and Part 2). These chapters present the development of postmodern curriculum research from the perspectives of changes in curriculum texts and different postmodern viewpoints, including constructive postmodernist curriculum research, post-structuralist curriculum research, postmodern feminist curriculum research, ecological postmodernist curriculum research, and more.
Chapter 6, Evaluation of Postmodern Curriculum Research. This chapter focuses on revealing the characteristics of postmodern curriculum research, analyzing its significance and existing problems, and exploring the implications of the postmodern curriculum perspective for the reform of basic education curriculum in China.
Chapter 7, Curriculum Research: Comparison and Construction. This chapter compares the relationship between modern and postmodern curriculum research, revealing their similarities and differences in research objectives, assumptions, methods, and theoretical foundations. Based on this, it constructs curriculum research for the 21st century.
