Features: The university is a product of the development of human society. The university cannot be separated from society, and similarly, the development of society cannot be separated from the university. The core mission of the university lies in cultivating talent and creating new knowledge. For this fundamental mission to truly become an effective driving force for social development, it must undertake the responsibility of serving society. Western scholar Henry Newman wrote in his article "The Main Purpose of University Education" that: "If the medium must give university courses a practical purpose, then I say it is training good members of society. Its art is the art of social life, and its purpose is to adapt to the world. University training is a great and ordinary means to achieve a great and ordinary purpose. It aims to elevate the intellectual standards of society, enhance the public's intellectual cultivation, purify the taste of the nation, provide true principles for the public's enthusiasm, set clear goals for the public's aspirations, expand the intellectual content of the era and keep it in a clear state, promote the exercise of political power, and refine the interactions between personal lives." Based on the above understanding of the functions and purposes of the university, this paper studies higher education in Chinese political socialization and the politicalization function of Chinese higher education.
