What is varicocele?

Patient's question:

Testicular pain, weak ejaculation; Low semen volume; Went to the hospital for a thorough examination, and the results showed prostatitis; mild; Taking medication did not alleviate the pain, it gradually improved; While taking a bath, I researched and realized that it was varicocele; it has been like this for several years; I didn't take it seriously before.

Doctor's answer:

Hello, varicocele is a common disease among young men. Due to certain reasons, the veins in the spermatic cord cause blood, leading to blood. This results in the tortuous, elongated, and expanded pampiniform plexus of veins in the spermatic cord, forming a worm-like mass in the scrotum, which is what varicocele is.
The external treatment for varicocele is suitable for milder symptoms where the varicosity is not very prominent. In such cases, a scrotal support belt can be used to hold the scrotum in place, and local cold compresses can be applied. If the varicosity is significant, surgical treatment is necessary regardless of the severity of the symptoms to prevent the recurrence of testicular atrophy and impaired spermatogenesis.
