"Essentials of the Annotations of the Lingshu and Suwen" is a collection of annotations by Chen Xiuyuan to enlighten later scholars on the "Lingshu" and "Suwen." The book consists of 12 volumes, using a classified research method to divide the content of the "Lingshu" and "Suwen" into 10 categories based on different properties: Dao Sheng (Daoist Creation), Zang Xiang (Organ Manifestations), Jing Luo (Meridians), Yun Qi (Five Elements and Climate), Wang Se (Pulse Observation), Zhen Hou (Pulse Diagnosis), Shen Zhi (Treatment Assessment), Sheng Si (Life and Death), Mai Zhen (Pulse Diagnosis), and Bing Ji (Pathogenesis). It elucidates ancient teachings in a concise and profound manner, benefiting later scholars by providing a solid foundation, making it an excellent reference book for learning basic TCM theory. "Annotations of the Shennong Herbal Classic" is a collection of Chen Xiuyuan's insights and reflections after carefully studying the "Shennong Herbal Classic." The book consists of four volumes, selecting 160 commonly used herbs from the 365 listed in the "Shen Nong Herbal Classic" (divided into superior, medium, and inferior categories) and combining them with the clinical experiences of physicians in applying these herbs to elaborate on the original text. The book integrates the principles of the "Neijing" and the methods of the "Shanghan," making it a valuable resource for studying herbs and clinical prescriptions. This book was first published in the eighth year of the Jiaqing reign (1793).
