Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2006-02-01
Features: Lu Zhi was a renowned statesman of the Tang Dynasty. This collection includes twenty-two volumes of his composed eulogies, memorials, and draft memorials during his tenure as a Hanlin Academician and Chancellor, along with one volume of supplements and three volumes of appendices. During his service, the political situation was turbulent, and most of his eulogies and memorials were works aimed at correcting and advising. However, his critiques and satirical writings exposed societal issues, clarified right and wrong, and balanced emotion and reason, combining the strengths of both parallel prose and prose. As a result, his works were highly regarded by later generations. The articles collected in this anthology are also important materials for understanding the politics, economy, and institutions of the mid-Tang Dynasty. The Lu Zhi Collection has been transmitted and printed through the ages. This edition is primarily based on the annotated and critically evaluated edition compiled by Dong Shi'en in the early 20th century, with additional punctuation and textual corrections.
