With the implementation of the Ministry of Health's "No. 12 Notice" in 1986, the Department of Anesthesiology rapidly developed as a clinical discipline of equal status to internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, and pediatrics. This is not only reflected in the deeper research of related theories, the continuous expansion of professional teams, and the increasing proportion of highly educated personnel year by year, but also in the further broadening of business areas. Today, the Department of Anesthesiology has been divided into multiple disciplines such as Clinical Anesthesia, Clinical Pain Management, Emergency and Resuscitation, and Critical Care Monitoring and Treatment.
To adapt to the development of the anesthesiology discipline, excellent professional works have continuously emerged, contributing to the learning and quality improvement of the professional team. Recently, many young and middle-aged physicians have reflected that if there were an atlas combining both clinical anesthesia and clinical pain management, it would make learning more convenient and efficient. Based on this demand, we collected and organized relevant materials from the past five years, summarized our own experience, and wrote this book. During the writing process, we strived to make the text concise, the images clear, and the meaning explicit, enabling readers to achieve a deeper understanding in a shorter time and guiding them to complete practical operations.
The book consists of fourteen chapters, with seven chapters dedicated to anesthesia and seven to pain management. It includes approximately 300 color illustrations. The anesthesia section focuses on introducing various operational techniques in basic anesthesia and its management, such as tracheal intubation and bronchial intubation, nerve blocks in different parts, and venous and arterial puncture techniques. To help readers better understand and master these basic techniques, it also provides detailed introductions to the related anatomy, judgment and solutions for operational difficulties, and a more thorough explanation of the selection and implementation of anesthesia methods for surgeries in different parts.
The pain management section introduces the diagnostic key points and treatment methods for various common pain conditions in order, clearly showing the relevant applied anatomy, operational techniques, and precautions.
