Life Weekly was founded on October 11, 1925, in Shanghai. Starting in 1926, it was edited by Zou Taofen, reaching a circulation of 150,000 copies and becoming a highly influential publication. In his editorial, Zou Taofen wrote, "The attitude of this magazine is as if every week we invite readers to gather with friends on a Sunday afternoon for a relaxed and lively discussion, free from constraints, avoiding stiffness, and striving for simplicity, elegance, and."
In 1995, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Zou Taofen's birth, the Shenghuo·Dushu·Xinzhi Sanlian Bookstore inherited the tradition of Life and resumed publishing The Three Links Life Weekly on January 14. In the "Editorial Note" of that issue, General Editor Dong Xiuyu wrote, "Today, we are in a great era at the turn of the century, and this is our fortune. How to reflect this era through the ordinary life stories of ordinary people, highlight the new social issues that people widely care about, and provide people with fresh life concepts and information, is the key we must strive for."
Over the past decade, The Three Links Life Weekly has remained a faithful chronicler of the new era's development, responding with keen insight to new trends, ideas, and currents. It hased new hot topics, new generations, and new lifestyles, promising to present the week's news with the fastest, richest, and most engaging standards.
This book is filled with recollections contributed by past and present participants of The Three Links, along with some precious founding materials.
