Features: Professor Wu Guanzhong, a renowned contemporary Chinese painter. He served as a professor at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. Born in rural Yixing, Jiangsu in 1919, he graduated from the Hangzhou National Art College in 1942 and studied at the école Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1947 to 1950. After returning to China, he engaged in higher art education and dedicated himself to the theoretical and creative aspects of nationalizing oil painting and modernizing Chinese painting. He has held solo exhibitions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other countries and regions, and was awarded the highest French literary and artistic honor.
Author Wu Guanzhong traveled far and wide for painting, exploring the wonders of the world; due to his early love for literature, alongside his paintings, heartfelt essays also flowed from his pen. British literary critic Professor Michael Sullivan said: "His published writings alone are enough to secure him a place in the art world. Especially his strong, concise, and sincere expression can be compared to that of the artist he admires, Van Gogh."
