Features: Today is the path that comes from yesterday. Reality is the projection of history. When we strive forward, occasionally looking back at the history of yesterday, we are often surprised to find that many people and things in reality have astonishing similarities to those in history. Therefore, learning from the experience and lessons of history is of great significance for us to continue our grand cause today! This book records the harrowing experiences of several surviving victims of violence among the women who suffered at the Japanese gun emplacements in the surrounding areas of Meng County, Yangquan Prefecture, Shanxi Province, one of the 21 Japanese gun emplacements—the Jingu gun emplacement. Women who suffered at Japanese gun emplacements in Xixian, Hedong, Shangshe, Donghuili, and Chuntuidi also experienced similar violence. Only at the Hedong gun emplacement were 17 surviving victims of violence identified around the mid-1990s. Even in the small village of Nanwenchuan in the neighboring Yangqu County, with a population of less than 200, there were still 3 survivors who had endured the aftermath of the tragedy. It can be said that wherever the Japanese forces passed, incidents of sexual violence occurred; wherever there were Japanese military bases, there were victims of such violence.
