The depth, precision, meticulousness, and rigor of Xiao Gongquan's academic thought, along with his incisive analysis of historical sources, are rare in the history of modern Chinese academic thought. By integrating the essence of both Chinese and Western scholarship, he gained the respect and admiration of scholars in both traditions through his creative insights and pioneering historical perspective.
