How to treat semen that does not liquefy?

Patient's question:

Doctor, after I had my doctor check me yesterday, I learned that this is called semen not liquefying. I originally thought it was normal, but recently I've noticed that it's becoming more difficult for me to ejaculate during sex. What's even more distressing is that I've found my semen to be very thick and sticky, with some small particles in it. This really scared me.

Doctor's answer:

1. Congenital deficiency of kidney yang, or malnutrition in later life, severe illness leading to physical weakness, or damage to kidney yang caused by external cold pathogens, can all cause semen to congeal and fail to vaporize.
2. Excessive indulgence in alcohol, sex, and overexertion in sexual activity, or excessive mental strain, or the transformation of five emotional activities into fire, can all deplete kidney yin. Yin deficiency with excess fire burns the body fluids, making semen thick and unable to vaporize.
3. Regular consumption of spicy, sweet, and greasy foods, or internal damp-heat accumulation, or external invasion of damp toxins, can all scorch the body fluids, causing unclear semen and making it thick and unvaporizable.
4. Overconsumption of cold and icy drinks can damage spleen yang, or other illnesses can impair spleen yang, leading to spleen deficiency affecting the kidneys. Alternatively, kidney yang deficiency may cause spleen yang deficiency, resulting in spleen and kidney yang deficiency. In such cases, water-dampness cannot be transported, forming phlegm, which accumulates in the semen passage, obstructing vaporization and preventing semen from vaporizing.
