Features: In the era of structuralism and deconstruction, the passionate years of the French intellectual community. French intellectuals underwent painful trials. They experienced joys and sorrows, separations and reunions, they defended the oppressed, they sang praises for the executioners. In short, they were living, breathing human beings; in short, their emotions were tortuous and moving; in short, their thoughts were stormy; in short, they embodied the intense resonance of their time. The origins and development of thought, the enmities and alliances of figures, the fluctuations of intellectual trends, and the twists and turns of moral paths are all captured here. Ultimately, they created a new intellectual realm, redrawn the map of human knowledge, changed the course of global knowledge, and became the most impactful intellectual force of the 20th century. Ironically, as structuralists maintained a wary distance from what they perceived as artificial unification, the media had just discovered and exaggerated this very unification. This period of fragmentation, disintegration, and decline only superficially affected the rhythm of structuralist research. Elsewhere, structuralist research continued, adhering to the logic of the time. The May 1968 movement advanced the institutional triumph of structuralism, playing a significant role in accepting the following agenda; it had shed the glamorous anti-cultural banner of rebellion, aiming to become the theoretical horizon of social science research.
