A peculiar "academic" work that discusses eternal themes in world art. For many centuries, artists, poets, and writers have strived to reflect the beauty of the human body and all that is associated with love and intimate relationships in their creations; at the same time, they have exposed and mocked human sins, neglect of restraint, and obscene behavior. Edward Fox, the author, is a renowned German art historian who studied erotic murals in Europe from ancient times to the modern era, as well as illustrations in publications, patterns on utensils, and more. He collected a vast amount of erotic materials, using them as a basis to narrate the influence of the morals and customs of different eras, nations, and ethnic groups on erotic art.
