Features: Martin Luther was a famous reformer during the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern era in Europe. The reform movement he initiated was not only a religious reform but also a social reform movement that touched almost every aspect of social life, opening the way for spiritual freedom and social liberation in Europe and other regions. As one of the giants with global significance in the modern era, Luther has attracted the attention of Chinese theologians, historians, educators, and political thinkers since the mid-19th century, exerting influence in China's social and spiritual spheres. The global "Lutheran Renaissance" of the 1980s also extended to China. Under these circumstances, our international cooperation project—the translation and publication of the Chinese Edition of Luther's Works—was conceived and implemented. The Chinese Edition of Luther's Works is a 15-volume series, covering five main themes: documents of the reform movement, faith and society, biblical sermons, theology, and other selected writings. It includes Luther's major works, and our is to promote the study of Luther in China and the overseas Chinese community, as well as international academic exchange.
