Can women with uterine fibroids eat Chinese alligator lizard?

Patient's question:

There is a small uterine fibroid, not very large. The doctor said that if it is less than 3 cm, surgery can be considered. Since it is benign, does it not need surgery? Regular check-ups are enough. Can someone with uterine fibroids eat snow fungus?

Doctor's answer:

Edible. However, the treatment of uterine fibroids primarily involves hormone drugs. When treated with medication, symptoms are likely to recur after discontinuation. Prolonged use of medication for over six months may lead to perimenopausal syndrome, osteoporosis, and the reappearance of symptoms such as hot flashes, sweating, neurosis, irritability, and heightened excitability. Alternatively, symptoms like palpitations, high blood pressure, vaginal dryness, low libido, frequent urination, loose teeth, lower back pain, and significant memory loss may also reoccur. Essentially, there is no clear medication that can completely cure uterine fibroids. In clinical diagnosis, remedies like Guizhi Fuling capsules, Gongtuo Xiao, and Baixiao Dan are often tried, with the aim of suppressing the function of the pituitary and ovaries, reducing estrogen levels, and thereby inhibiting their aggressive growth. However, the effectiveness of these treatments is not very significant.
