Patient's question:
My husband has been urinating frequently and urgently lately, and I didn't pay much attention, thinking he just got cold. But in the past two days, he said it's gotten worse than before. Now he's thirsty and sometimes feels a dull pain in his testicles, and he really needs to go to the hospital. All our living expenses rely on my husband alone. What if he falls ill? We'll be in trouble.Doctor's answer:
Prostatitis generally does not cause the testicles to easily experience pain again. If the testicles do experience pain again, it indicates that the testicles are sick and require timely and thorough examination and treatment. Testicular torsion is one of the common acute emergencies in the scrotum. For patients with suspected or undiagnosed testicular torsion, early surgical exploration, reduction, and fixation should be performed to save the testicle and protect sperm production function. It is generally believed that if testicular torsion is resolved within 6 hours, the testicle salvage rate can reach 80%. If it is treated after 24 hours, the salvage rate is only 20%. Even if the testicle can be preserved at this point, the function of the affected testicle is often damaged.
