Features: China's Ministry of Education recently announced that all key research bases under the ministry must have their own regular academic journals. The format of these journals must be either formal magazines or electronic journals with fixed URLs. The Linguistic Circle of China (starting from Issue 26) is a regular academic collection of the Beijing University Chinese Linguistics Research Center, a key research base under the Ministry of Education, published by the Commercial Press twice a year. In line with the spirit of the aforementioned document, The Linguistic Circle of China will also establish an electronic journal. Starting from Issue 26, papers will be freely published on the "Peking University Academic Journals Network" (http://e-journals.pku.edu.cn/Jour/Index.aspx?JIID=21) one year after their publication. The published content will include: the English and Chinese titles, abstracts, and keywords of the articles; authors, funding sources, author affiliations, and correspondence addresses; references; and the chapter or introductory section equivalent of the article. The establishment of the electronic journal is expected to facilitate the inclusion of papers in relevant academic search systems, as well as promote academic evaluation and exchange.
